The short version
- In the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Or email us from your account's address and we delete it for you.
- Your account, its sign-ins and every business it owns are deleted from our servers, with all their bills, clients and pictures.
- Export All Data first if you want to keep a copy.
Who this is for
This page is for The Smart Billing from version 6.0, on Android (Google Play), on iPhone, iPad and Mac (App Store) and on the web, published by ZaatarLABS. From 6.0, The Smart Billing keeps each business on your account on our servers, so all your devices and your team see the same business; this is how you remove your account.
Delete it in the app
- Open The Smart Billing.
- Optional but recommended: go to Settings → Account → Export All Data and keep the file.
- In Settings → Account, tap Delete Account, then confirm.
The web app has the same Delete Account in its Settings → Account.
Or ask us to delete it
If you no longer have the app, email support@zaatarlabs.com from the email address of your account (or of the Apple or Google account you sign in with), with the subject "Delete my Smart Billing account". We confirm the request with you and delete the account within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account: your name, your email address, every way you signed in (Apple, Google or an emailed code) and the devices you signed in on. A Sign in with Apple link is revoked with Apple.
- Every business your account owns, with all its records (clients, bills, receipts, quotations, expenses, items and stock) and pictures. Its team loses access at once. To keep a business for your team, hand it over to one of them first (People → Make Owner).
- Your place on other people's teams: you leave their businesses.
- The record of your plan's purchases on our servers.
What is kept, and for how long
- In a business someone else owns, the records you created stay with that business, and "Last changed by" no longer names you.
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it where you bought it first, so you aren't charged again.
- Deleted data leaves our servers, backups included, within 30 days.
- Usage measurement is never linked to your account. To delete it, turn off "Improve The Smart Billing" in the app's Settings → Privacy.
