Sending the invoice is half the job. The other half is remembering which clients haven't paid, how long it's been, and getting round to asking. When that lives in your head or a spreadsheet, the money comes in late, or not at all.
The Smart Billing keeps it on the first screen you open.
In short
- Top Due Bills on the dashboard ranks unpaid bills and shows how many days overdue each one is.
- Every client screen shows what that client owes.
- One tap to WhatsApp, SMS, a call or email to chase it.
- Partial payments and deposits are tracked against the bill.
- It reminds you before a bill is due and after it goes overdue. It does not message your clients for you.
See who owes you
- The dashboard. A ring shows what's paid against what's due for the week, month or year. Below it, Top Due Bills lists the bills still open, ranked by amount, with how many days overdue each one is. View All opens the full list.
- Each client. A client's screen shows what they owe and every bill, marked paid, partly paid or still due.
- On your Home Screen. The Billing Overview widget shows your top due bills without opening the app, and Siri can tell you your outstanding balance or overdue bills.
Chase it in one tap
Open the client and tap WhatsApp, message, call or email. You write the reminder in your own words, to a client you know, from your own number. If they've lost the invoice, open it and share the PDF to WhatsApp again.
Smart Billing does not send automatic reminders to clients. Instead, it reminds you. With Invoice Due Reminders on in Settings, a notification arrives 2 days and 1 day before a bill is due, so you can nudge the client before it's late; Overdue Alerts follow up 1 day and 7 days after.
Record what comes in
- Partial payments. Record a payment in full or in part. A part-paid bill shows as partial, and what's left stays on the client's balance.
- Receipts. Recording a payment gives you a PDF receipt to send to the client.
- Deposits. Took money up front? Log it as an advance against the client and it comes off their later bills.
Payments are recorded by you. Invoices don't carry a card or online payment link, so you mark a bill paid when the transfer or cash arrives.
Ask the Business Assistant
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, ask “Who owes me the most?” and the Business Assistant answers from your own books. It reads your data and never changes it. It runs through Apple Intelligence, on your device or in Apple's Private Cloud Compute, and needs iOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence turned on, in a language Apple Intelligence supports.

Questions
How do I see which invoices are unpaid?
Open the dashboard: Top Due Bills lists your open bills by amount with how many days overdue each one is, and View All shows every one. Each client's screen shows what that client owes.
Does Smart Billing send payment reminders to my clients?
No. It reminds you: notifications 2 days and 1 day before a bill is due, and 1 day and 7 days after it goes overdue, when those reminders are on in Settings. You chase the client yourself in one tap, on WhatsApp, SMS, a call or email.
Can I record a partial payment?
Yes. Record any amount against a bill; it shows as partial until the rest is paid, and the PDF receipt shows what was paid before, what was paid now and the balance due.
How do deposits work?
Log a deposit as an advance against the client. It is applied to their later bills.
Can clients pay the invoice online?
No. Invoices don't include a card or online payment link. You record payments in the app when they arrive.
